Enjoying a great revival, the longwing Derby brogue toe panel extends round to the back of the shoe, instead of finishing mid vamp as on a wingtip brogue. The traditional brogue punch detail originally went right through the upper to let the water out on wet or boggy ground. Presumably since the invention of rubber Wellingtons this is no longer the case, but the decorative detail is still appreciated. The upper is made from soft calf suede with a neatly piped topline and facings. Inside there is a full calf leather lining and half insock. The upper is Goodyear welted to a leather insole topped with a rubber forepart and heel with a studded tread.
